The New Richmond girls wrestling team placed first of 12 teams at the 2026 Williamsburg Girls Invitational on Friday, January 16. New Richmond scored 158 points, followed by Taylor in second with 142 and Batavia in third with 109.

Seven of the eight Lions in attendance finished in the top four. Third-place finishers were Sophie Shifflet and Lacey Dalton; second-place honors went to Brooklyn Lanning—who voluntarily wrestled up two weight classes—and Zoi Parker. Tournament champions were Serenity Osborn, Kinlee Faubion, and Elena Huebner.

The team’s strong performance reflected the leadership and preparation provided by coaches Will Lytle (Head; boys & girls), Mike Ream (Assistant, boys & girls), and Mia Smith (Assistant, girls), making it an exciting start to the season for a young Lions squad.
